Description
INDUSTRY DAY. The Capital District Contracting Center, Fort Belvoir, Virginia intends to hold an INDUSTRY DAY on 28 February 2008 at Fort Belvoir, VA. The purpose of this event is to present the Armys contracting objectives and requirements for the Solid Waste and Recycling Program on behalf of the U.S. Army Installation Management Command, Fort Monroe, VA, and to gather information to assist IMCOM in structuring the overall acquisition strategy for next generation of contracts based upon the assessm ent of Industry capability/capacity. Collection of solid waste and recyclable materials shall consist of the following locations: Adelphi Laboratory Center, Maryland; Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland; Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Fort Meade, Maryland; and For t Myer Military Community (to include: Fort Myer, Virginia; Fort McNair, District of Columbia and Marine Corps Base at Henderson Hall). Scope of services shall include the collection and disposal of solid waste; collection and sale of recyclable material along with the operation of solid waste and recycle centers. In addition, the contractor shall furnish all personnel, equipment, and permits required for efficient operation and total performance of the services required by these specifications. Personnel employed by the contractor shall be capable employees, properly licensed, as required by state, federal and local laws, rules and regulations, experienced in this type of work. The Government has a forty percent (40%) diversion/recycling goal. The solid wa ste and recycling contractor at these installations shall play a critical role in achieving and surpassing this forty percent (40%) goal. On the date for Industry Day an agenda will be made available which will include IMCOMs presentation regarding each of the various aspects of the Pro gram as well as the Performance Work Statement, Contracting, Legal and Small Business considerations. This notice is neither a request for competitive proposals nor a solicitation of offers.
