- Description: Renovation of SPD Building 31 This project will engage an Architect-Engineering firm to provide Schematics, Design Development, Construction Documents, Contract Drawings, Specifications, Construction Cost Estimate, Engineering Calculations and subsequent Construction Period Services for the above referenced project, specifically to involve: 1. Renovate existing Supply, Processing and Distribution (SPD) to address infection control deficiencies to include Flooring, Ceilings, Walls including reconfiguration as required to improve workflow and efficiency. 2. Upgrade plumbing including floor drainage. 3. Upgrade Electrical Systems within and serving SPD to meet current VA standards to include; Power, Lighting, Telephone, Public Address, Paging, Alarms including ETO. 4. Doors and Windows to include; Doors, Door Hardware, Modification or replacement of exterior windows to improve safety, security and energy performance, Trim, finishes and signage in corridors, offices and other spaces to meet current VA standards. 5. HVAC system including controls The A/E shall provide a detailed construction cost estimate based on the contract drawings and specifications. All designs are to be to VA design criteria. Estimated construction cost is $400,000.00. Design is to be completed within 120 days. The A/E firm must have an active production office within a 200 mile radius of White River Junction, Vermont. The following factors will be considered: reputation and standing of the firm and its principal officials with respect to professional performance, general management and cooperativeness/record of significant claims against the firm because of improper or incomplete architectural and engineering services, specific experience and qualifications of personnel proposed for assignment to the project and their record of working together as a team. Award is subject to the availability of funds. Submissions of SF 330s are due NLT March 21, 2008. Please note that this is not a Request for Proposal and the Government is seeking information for planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or a commitment by the Government to later publish a solicitation. This announcement is not a request for competitive quotations. No solicitation document is available and telephone inquires will not be honored; however interested parties may submit literature detailing how their services meet the VA requirements to the Contracting Officer. Responses received on or before March 21, 2008 will be considered.
