Description

The proposed procurement action consists of the proposed contractor, Honeywell International, Inc., performing the design, development, integration, testing and qualification, delivery and support for the upgrade of the CDS4 IMCPU to the CDS5 configu ration. The efforts associated with the IMCPUs will include the elimination of obsolescence issues; development of IMCPU hardware Ethernet interface to the Improved Data Modem (IDM) and hardware changes to increase memory and throughput; update of IMCPU s oftware to process Variable Message Format (VMF) Situational Awareness (SA) data over Ethernet interface instead of MIL-STD-1553; and development of a MIL-STD-1760 software interface within the IMCPU that will interface with a MIL-STD-1760 Hellfire launche r. In support of the IMCPU efforts, modification and integration of the Software Integration Laboratory (SWIL) to the CDS5 configuration will be required. The contractor will also conduct an evaluation of the Integrated Family of Test Equipment (IFTE) te st program sets for required changes or modification as a result of the CDS5 hardware changes. The proposed period of performance for the requirement is April 2008 through September 2010. The intended source is Honeywell Incorporated, Defense Avionics Systems, 9201 San Matep M.E., Albuquerque, New Mexico 87113-2227, the only known source capable of performing this work in the timeframe required to satisfy the Armys minimum needs.
