Description
The Naval Air Systems Command intends to place a sole-source firm fixed price order under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-05-G-0026 with McDonnell Douglas Corporation (MDC) (A Wholly Owned Subsidiary of the Boeing Company) of St. Louis, Missouri 63166, for the procurement of Engineering Change Proposal 6239R1 - the retrofit effort to (1) redesign the web of the F/A-18E/F aft fuselage outboard former at Y679 resulting from cracks that were discovered during inspections conducted during the third lifetime of testing on the FT50 fatigue test article; (2) prepare/update technical directives; (3) manufacture, deliver and install 2 validation kits; (4) manufacture and deliver 2 verification kits; and (5) manufacture and deliver out-of-warranty retrofit kits to modify 68 F/A-18E/F aircraft. Projected period of performance is 30 May 2008 through 30 September 2015. MDC is the sole designer, developer, manufacturer and integrator of the F/A-18E/F aircraft in its various configurations and is the only source with the knowledge, expertise, facilities, and qualified personnel necessary to accomplish this effort. Any interested party must have the knowledge, expertise, facilities, and qualified personnel necessary accomplish this effort within schedule requirements. Any respondent must also submit a Statement of Qualifications to demonstrate respondent?s ability to perform to the Government?s needs within the required response time.
