- This is modification 1 to the synopsis entitled MANUFACTURE OF THE NASA STANDARD DETONATOR solicitation number NNJ08217056R which was posted on 11/19/2007. You are notified of the following updates: 1. In response to inquiries made into the certification process for becoming a qualified source for manufacture of the NASA Standard Detonator please reference the following: To become a Qualified Source to fabricate the NSD a company must: Manufacture 500 units and subject the units to various environments (including vibration, temperature cycling, and -420 degree F) and test firing. If successful, the company becomes a qualified source; however, a single firing failure requires a new production lot of 500 units to be manufactured, from which the process is then repeated. Note: This must be done at the company's expense. 2. Due to competing requirements, the anticipated release date of the Request for Proposal has been moved to February 2008. 3. The due date for responses is extended to 1/28/2008. Documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
