TO OBTAIN AN ELECTRONIC COPY, PLEASE CONTACT DARREN ODEGARD AT: DARREN.ODEGARD@FAA.GOV The purpose of this web-posting is to give advance notice of a pending Request for Offers (RFO) for the subject project. This web-posting currently includes a summary of the project's Scope of Work and instructions for scheduling an optional job-walk. The FAA point-of-contact listed above will post a complete RFO to this website within a few days, which will include a detailed Scope of Work, contract clauses, and requirements for submitting an offer. - This project is intended for exclusive competition among SEDB/(8a) vendors. - Davis Bacon Act wage rates apply. - Estimated value: Between $50,000 and $100,000. - The NAICS Code for this project will be 238210 SUMMARY: SCOPE OF WORK SECTION A - General Requirements. 1) Project Location. - Oakland Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC), 5125 Central Avenue, Fremont, California 94536. 2) Optional Pre-Bid Jobwalk and Project Duration An optional pre-bid jobwalk can be scheduled on these dates: January 9 through January 16, 2007 (except for January 14). Contact Jesse Lee at 510-745-3430. Alternate Point of Contact is Kent Theobald at 510-745-3417. Twenty-four (24) hour prior notice is required to coordinate visit. Notice to Proceed (NTP) will take place on April 1, 2007. Project Duration is approximately thirty (30) calendar days. All submittals shall be approved and materials available prior to issuance of the NTP. The time between award and NTP shall be used for submittal processing, review, approval and material delivery. SECTION B - Scope of Work and Technical Specification 1) OVERVIEW The Intent of this project is to upgrade 45 year old power panels and breakers and to correct some electrical deficiencies that exist. The project is for the most part limited to gutting the existing electrical can and installing new electrical components into those cans. Those components include the following: A) Factory assembled panel boards with dead-fronts to be mounted into existing boxes. B) Fabrication of new piano-hinged covers to be mounted to the existing box with hinged doors for access to the breakers inside. C) Except where called out in documents existing feeders for power panels will be reused. D) Where called out in documentation branched loads will be reconnected to new breakers without replacing branch load wiring. If wires are too short to reach new breakers wire nuts or suitable splices will be allowed. Wires AWG 4 and above compression fittings.
