Description
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has a requirement for an estimated 600 10 dose vials over a six month period. The contract will provide Strep Vax II vaccine, primarily to BLM facilities in the Western U.S., to be administered by intramuscular injection to all wild hourses and borrors that are removed for adoption. The vaccine will stimulate a protective immune response in native horses and burros. The vaccine can be provided in pre-mixed 10 dose vials or preloaded in syringes. The vaccine will need to be administered safely, quickly and easily to the wild horses and burros, in a variety of field situations and in combination with other equine vaccines. The vaccine will need to be effective for at least 72 hours after being prepared for injection. The vaccine will need to be administered in all types of weather, rain, snow, cold, heat and sunlight without any adverse effects on safety or efficacy. Vaccine will be available in multi-dose vials or preloaded into syringes. There must be evidence that the vaccine is safe for use in broad age range of horses and burros (or in foals greater than 4 months of age) with minimal side effects. There must be evidence that the vaccine is safe for use in pregnant horses and buroos with minimal adverse effects on the mare or fetus. The period of performance will be from March 01, 2008 to September 30, 2008. Solicitation FAQ080031 will be available on January 23. 2008.
