- Description
- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation document and FAR incorporated clauses/provisions are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-23 and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement DCN 20080110. This solicitation incorporates by reference the following FAR and DFAR clauses: 52.212-1, 52.212-3, 52.212-04, 52.212-05, 252.211-7003, 252-212-7001 and 252.232-7010. The NAIC Code is 334119. This requirement is for brand name in accordance with authority 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1(c). The Brand Name Justification is as follows: I. The Network Operations Center (NOC) has a requirement to purchase the American Power Conversion?s (APC) InfraStrucXure Central, 100 Nodes License, Rack Power Distribution Unit (PDU) Switched and 1 Year 100 Node Software Support. The components provide centralized infrastructure management and real-time device monitoring with immediate event notification. They provide the ability to provide an assessment that can be used to resolve critical situations within the data center?s numerous computer racks. Along with the hardware devices additional node licenses are required in order for them to communicate with the central server in our network infrastructure. II. APC?s power distribution units (PDU), also called managed power strips are already in use within our computer facility. They are used to monitor electrical current to sensitive computer equipment. Our organization has already invested money in the current hardware devices and licenses. APC?s power strips are compatible with our existing system. In order to maintain the compatibility and operating levels, the NOC requires the purchase of additional APC hardware devices and software licenses. The requested procurement keeps NOC APC supported equipment up to current standards and enables our workforce with continued seamlessly reliable interface with our existing NOC infrastructure. III. The proposed APC hardware devices and licenses are the only known products able to satisfy the government?s requirement without an additional investment to modify the current infrastructure. IV. NOC will continue to review technical publications, attend trade shows and conferences to determine alternate sources of supply; The Line Item Description is as follows: CLIN 0001- APC InfraStruXure Central License 100 nodes ?
