Description
The FAA has a continuing requirement for thirty (30) each Terminal Doppler Weather Radar (TDWR) Small Ribbon Displays, Vishay Dale Electronics part number APD-250M045. The ribbon displays are a wind-shear detection system, which detects gust fronts, precipitation and micro-bursts in the terminal aircraft approach, used to increase the safety of the National Airspace Systems (NAS). The ribbon displays will be utilized for the TDWR, Low Level Wind Sheear Alert System (LLWAS), Weather Systems Processor (WSP), and Integrated Terminal Weather Radar Systems (ITWS). The requirement is a one-time award. The FAA intends to solicit and negotiate only with Vishay Dale Electronics, Columbus, Nebraska in accordance with AMS Policy 3.2.2.4. A market survey was conducted September 13, 2007, through September 21, 2007, and the results of this survey supported the determination to solicit and negotiate with only one firm. This announcement is for information purposes only.
