- Description
- The Government intends to award a sole source contract modification to Raytheon Compnay, Marlborough, MA 01752. This contract modification shall produce an estimated quantity of two production quality Engineering Development Model (EDM) CSTT Terminal Communications Groups (CGs) for the Zumwalt class ship system. In addition an anticipated quantity of ten (10) Production Models of the CSTT Terminals is included for the out years (two each year FY10-FY14). As delivery of the two EDMs is required by October 2009 for integration into the Zumwalt hulls additional funding is also required for engineering support and integration services through FY14. The NMT CG includes the inboard (below decks) rack-mounted equipment including modem, IF, Baseband, Crypto, and TIA. The requirement for a NMT Zumwalt class ship variant is due to the unique reduced radar cross section design and reduced manning requirement of this ship class. This variant will be an additional CLIN for the required design modifications to the baseline NMT functionality, which includes required CG changes to interface to the Zumwalt's unique EHF Transmit/Receive Antenna Component (CXEA) "antenna group". The Zumwalt Class specific CXEA will consist of five (5) antennas instead of the dual antenna capability provided in the baseline NMT. As a result, the baseline NMT Radio Frequency (RF), antenna acquisition and tracking control interfaces require modifications for compatibility with the Zumwalt CXEA. Furthermore, the Zumwalt variant has unique reduced manning requirements, and therefore the Zumwalt NMT will be managed differently then the NMT baseline. ************************** Notes 22 & 26 apply.
