Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District will host an Industry Forum on Friday, January 25, 2008 to present information to contractors and subcontractors for the new Armed Forces Reserve Center, Bristol, PA. The design/construction esti mate is between $10 and $25 million. The forum will be held in the Sheraton Bucks County Hotel, 400 Oxford Valley Road, Langhorne, PA, in the Princeton Ballroom located on the 2nd floor from 10 a.m. to noon. Registration for the forum is required by January 23 on this website: https://155.80.93.240//surveys/IndustryForum.htm. Use this email address for reporting problems with the registration website: Brandon.D.Meyer@usace.army.mil The new Bristol Armed Forces Reserve Center project consists of the design and construction (design/build) of a 53,000 square foot training building and multiple support buildings. The facilities support Army Reserve and Marine Reserve units. The Project site will be at the location of the existing Reserve Center a t 2501 Ford Road, Bristol, PA. This project will be awarded through best value selection. The Request for Proposal (RFP) solicitation package is scheduled to be issued in April 2008. The RFP will require contractors to submit performance, capability , technical, and pricing information. The government will conduct a selection board and identify the contractor that offers the best value to the Government. Award of one Design/Build contract is scheduled in June 2008. Contract duration is approximately 680 days or approximately 2 years. Industry forums provide information to contractors about the project scope, solicitation process, and working with the federal government. The benefit to contractors is the opportunity to address questions regard ing the submission requirements and process with those directly involved. The forum also allows contractors to network which could lead to possible teaming opportunities. In addition to benefits the Industry Forum provides to businesses, the foru m also benefits the Corps and the government, said Louisville District Commander Col. Raymond Midkiff. It is in the best interest of the government to maximize competition. With a competitive pool of bidders, the government can get the best quality of work at the best value.
