Description
The Department of Veteran Affairs Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System (NWIHCS) is conducting market research to find possible solutions and cost estimates for a "Keyless Electronic Lock System" for 10-11 doors for the D Wing of the 9th Floor of the Omaha VA Medical Center. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF SYSTEM: The Keyless electronic lock system will be controlled and monitored by a computer that will require a software program to allow monitoring of entry, assignment of new and deletion of old "fobs" allowed to enter. Availability of alarm interact to be added for remote monitoring of alarm. System will be activated by smart cards of fobs. System will be a stand-alone system. Training will be required on entry and deletion procedures as well as how to run reports generated by software program. Latching hardware to fail safe or secure. Mechanical cores for locks will be supplied by the VA and should be compatible to Best Lock cores. RESPONSE: In response to this RFI, please provide literature explaining the features of the proposed system, a list of facilities/businesses you have provided this system to in the past and an estimated cost to provide a system to the VA per the requirements listed above. PLEASE NOTE: THIS NOTICES IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) OR REQUEST FOR QUOTES (RFQ). THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. IF AN ACCEPTABLE AND COST-EFFECTIVE METHOD ARISES FROM THIS RFI AND THE VA DECIDES TO PROCEED WITH AN ACQUISITION FOR A KEYLESS ELECTRONIC LOCK SYSTEM, AN RFQ WILL BE INITIATED AT THAT TIME.
