Description
This is a Sources Sought Notice only. This is not a Request for Proposal, Request for Quote or Invitation for Bid. Product Manager, Soldier Sensors and Lasers (PM SSL) is seeking sources of supply for Handheld Thermal Imagers. Handheld Thermal Imagers are intended to provide individual Soldiers with enhanced surveillance, observation and detection capabilities during day/night operations and in conditions of battlefield obscuration (smoke, dust and haze). Sources would potentially be required to deliver up to 3,000 units with 12 months after first delivery of first production lot. Required performance specifications for Handheld Thermals Imagers include, but are not limited to: 1) Human detection range of 500 meters or greater 2) Wei ght 4 lbs or less with batteries 3) Powered by AA batteries(alkaline and/or lithium) or CR-123 batteries 4) Battery life of 6 hours at 23C with primary batteries 5) 320 x 240 Focal Plane Array 6) 2x magnification or greater 7) Minimum fiel d of view of 11x8 degrees 8) RS-170 video output 9) Operating Temperature of -20C to +49C 10) Immersion in 1 meter of water for 30 minutes without damage 11) Drop Test from 1 meter onto hard packed earth without damage 12) Two year Warran ty Desired delivery quantities and schedule are: NLT 10 Days ARO  Provide 3 First Article production units for Government Test NLT 60 Days ARO  Delivery of first production lot Production Option 1: 1500 units delivered within 12 months of acceptance of first production lot Production Option 2: 3000 units delivered within 12 months of acceptance of first production lot Responses from interested businesses should include the following: 1) Business name and address and Point of Contact information (name, email and phone number) 2) Information on existing contracts, such as GSA or other Government agency IDIQ contracts, under which the required items could be purchased 3) Product description, technical specifications and discussion of compliance with performance requirements listed above 4) Discussion of Production capability and ability to meet the desired delivery quantities outlined above, to include a proposed delivery schedules (in Days ARO) for one or both production options 5) Discussion of warranty provided and ability to provide contractor maintenance support for damaged or inoperative units Responses are due by January 16, 2008.
