- Description
- The Idaho National Laboratory (INL) has discovered a method for the production of nanoparticle semiconductor materials. We have produced nanoparticle sized copper-indium-disulfide semiconductor materials that are used in advanced photovoltaic devices. The source of the semiconductor materials are derived from inexpensive materials. The particles produced are well known nanoparticle semiconductor materials capable of capturing photonic energy and converting it to electron energy. Other nanomaterials may be produce by the process. Additional novel uses of the process and materials have also been proposed by the inventors. The primary advantages of the process are:
