Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport intends to award on a sole source basis a Cost Plus Fixed Fee term type contract to BBN Technologies for the Distant Thunder Functional Segment (DTFS) software modification and In service support for installation and check out (INCO) and at sea data measurement of delivered DTFS software. The period of performance is from date of award to 30 September 2008. As developer of the DTFS software, BBN has gained the knowledge and proficiency to update the software to meet delivery and integration schedule and expected at sea demonstration in Feb/March. The solicitation will be posted no earlier than 08 Jan 2008. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.
