Description
Aircraft: a DC-3/Basler Turbo 67; the existing paint and primer will be removed from all exterior metal surfaces of the aircraft to include the main and tail landing gears not including the wheels. The wheel wells do not need to be striped but do need to be prepped and repainted. The ailerons, elevators and rudder are covered with fabric in good condition. All flight control surfaces shall be removed for painting, rebalanced and reinstalled in accordance with the aircraft maintenance manual. Any discrepancies found during the paint striping process will be reported to the USDA Forest Service representative for repair consideration. A chemical etch shall be applied followed by an Alodine application, a chromate epoxy primer then JET GLO brand paint WHITE: CM0570726, BRITE POPPY: 00304, BLACK: 01955, GRAY: 707 paint. The contractor shall purchase and Install all external decals as per the aircraft maintenance manual and flight manual. A satisfactory flight test shall be conducted by the Forest Service pilots before the aircraft is accepted from the painting facility. A warranty period of at least 12 months or 600 flight hours whichever comes first, shall apply primarily to the proper adhesion of the primer and or paint on the aircraft. The aircraft will be ready for the acceptance inspection no later than 30 days from delivery to the paint contractors'facility.
