QUES TIONS AND ANSWERS ARE AS FOLLOWS CLIN 0001: QUESTION 6: The Cargocaire HC-300 would have to be XP as well, air would be circulated through it from inside the chamber. We are checking in to this on our end but wondered if this was taken in to consideration and if you had experience buying XP Cargocaire units in this model? Answer: The air drier does not need to be explosion proof. The HC-300 is located in mechanical area of chamber. To make clear the safety specifications of the chamber, please be advise of the following: 1. Any openings in the wall between the conditioned chamber area and the mechanical equipment area shall be sealed so that no conditioned air may leak into the mechanical area. Openings in this wall must be sealed from both sides. 2. The ex plosion proof interior light fixtures apply only to the conditioned chamber area. 3. Regarding the seven 120V, 20A duplex receptacles, three will be located in the mechanical equipment area and four will be located on the exterior walls of the conditioned chamber area. The four receptacles shall be located near the access ports. All receptacles shall be clear of any door swing areas/clearances. 4. Revise hazardous location classifications to Class 1, Group C, D, and Class II, Group E, F, G, Division 2 for c onditioned chamber area wiring. QUESTION 7: How large do the bi-parting doors need to be? Answer: The bi-parting doors should open up to allow full access to the interior conditioned space, 94 wide x 122 deep x 83 high. QUESTION 8: A 15x15 Cascade refr igeration system (as specified) will not transition this size chamber from 180?F to -80?F in 120 minutes with a 3000 lb load of steel especially with 3/16 th plate in the bottom of the chamber for the floor. Answer: We are requesting the 15hp refrigeration system. Three hours will be sufficient for the temperature/load limits. QUESTION 9: I do not see a mention to blow out panels which would be typical on this type of chamber? Answer: The chamber does require blow out panels. QUESTION 10: Requirement for d efrost? Do you plan on soaking at a low temperature for a prolonged period of time? Answer: A defrosts system is being requested. The chamber could soak at low temperatures for as long as a month. Sometimes it may only run for a week. However, people may enter the chamber on humid days bringing moisture into the air. QUESTION 11: Can we quote our standard control system or is the Micristar controls system a must? Answer: The Micristar control system is a must. QUESTION 12: Is a Modular panel room ok? Answ er: If referring to the chamber wall construction, it must be well sealed. The chamber will not be moved once installed. However, leakage can be a problem so any short cuts in the chamber wall construction could mean a large loss of quality for the chamber in its future.
