Notice of MARKET SURVEY QUESTIONNAIRE for Comparability Determination of Federal Prison Industries Product with Private Sector for the following item: NOUN: Cable Assembly, Special, Remote Speaker; NSN: 5995-01-528-0527; Part Number: 17-2-1040-1. RESPONSE DUE BY 2008JAN19; 3:45PM. NOTE: This market research questionnaire, and all information herein, is for informational planning purposes only and does not constitute a Request for Proposal or Invitation for Bid, nor is it to be construed as a commitment by the Government. Description and Specific Engineering/Testing Requirements: In accordance with FAR 8.602, the supplies covered by this solicitation are determined to be products furnished by Federal Prison Industries (FPI). Notwiths tanding the inclusion of any set-aside provision or clause in this solicitation, award may be made to FPI, even if this solicitation is subject to a set-aside provision. Cable Assembly, Special, Remote Speaker NSN: 5995-01-528-0527, Part Number: 17- 2-1040-1 is manufactured to a specification control drawing with the suggested source Aerospace Systems, Inc, CAGE: 24600, PN 506C331. The cable assembly is 25 feet long with (1) connector (M55181/7-03) on one end and connector (MS27656T13BBP) on the oppos ite end. Suggested NAICS Codes are: 334419 and 334418. Market Survey Questionnaire and link to order TDP are posted via the internet at: https://aais.ria.army.mil/aais/SOLINFO/index.htm and open link to Market Surveys. The Government is conducting mar ket research to determine if Federal Prison Industries (FPI) products are comparable to products available from the private sector in terms of price, quality and time of delivery for a Cable Assembly, Special, Remote Speaker, used in the Chemical Biologica l Protective Shelter (CBPS). If FPI is not deemed comparable, the requirement will be competed (set aside status has not been determined).
