- Description
- The U.S. Department of Commerce (USDOC) intends to procure a 32 foot used research vessel. The National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Great Lakes Environmental Research Lab (GLERL) operates a fleet of research vessels throughout the Great Lakes Region. To meet current and future scientific needs for field sampling, GLERL needs to add a small research vessel for near shore work. This vessel must be configured to support a variety of mission requirements that require an open deck arrangement and weight lifting capabilities. Design Type: Survey / Utility, enclosed cabin, weight lifting capability, must be over the road transportable (trailer or wide load permit).The intended use of this vessel is for near shore limnology research. Operations would include benthic sampling, vertical net tows, otter trawls, buoy and instrumentation deployments, Connectivity Temperature and Depth casts, dive support, side scan sonar and towed electronic instrumentation. NOAA-GLERL will be responsible for the cost of vessel delivery to Michigan. Location of the vessel and transportation costs will be factored into the vessel value. Vessel is required by
