- The M14 Enhanced Rifle Stock (ERS) converts the standard M14 Rifle into a configuration that facilitates the use of necessary battlefield equipment, and employs the use of features that will allow adjustment to accommodate individual soldiers. <B R>The ERS shall be made from a light-weight, metallic material. It shall be designed to dimensionally house the M14 barreled action, and shall allow minimal to no movement without the use of bedding material, i.e. glass bedding, etc. The ERS shall allow f or installation of the standard M14 trigger group without alteration. The ERS shall have a rear pistol grip design. The ERS shall provide interface for an optic mounting MIL-STD-1913 rail system. The ERS shall also provide a forward rail system which mee ts MIL-STD-1913. The forward rail system shall provide mounting surfaces on top, bottom, left, and right. The ERS shall provide an adjustable comb for the use of optics sights to accommodate operation by the 5th through the 95th percentile of the target au dience soldier. The ERS shall have a collapsible butt stock, which allows for ease of dismount from vehicles/aircraft. The butt stock shall be adjustable for proper eye relief and trigger pull length to accommodate operation by the 5th thru the 95th percen tile of the target audience soldier. (The average user). Any potential ERS to be offered would be required to pass applicable Army testing. Funding does not currently exist for this testing. Any offeror would be required to maintain a Quality Assura nce system considered ISO 9001:2000 compliant. The Government would require an estimated quantity of 4,500 (Four Thousand Five Hundred) DOS to be delivered FOB Destination to Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island IL at a rate of 300 pieces per month beg inning March 1, 2008. Currently, funding does not exist for this requirement. If funding were to be established, such funding would be incremental. Interested potential offerors which can meet the functional requirements, delivery milestones and est imated quantities as described herein are encouraged to send existing commercial product literature and commercial pricelists that will provide the Government with the ability to determine the adequacy of the offered product for meeting the stated requirem ent. The Government must be able to make an adequacy determination based on the literature provided and will not accept hardware samples at this time.
