- Description
- The Day Optic Sight (DOS) shall have variable/adjustable power and must retain zero throughout all power settings. The lowest power parameter settings shall range from 3x to 4.5x and the highest power parameter setting shall range from 10x to 16x. The DOS elevation and windage adjustments of 1/2 minute-of-angle (MOA) shall provide for visible and tactile setting adjustment indication. The DOS shall incorporate a focus/parallax adjustment located near the elevation and windage adjustments. The DOS shall incorporate a removable bullet drop compensator (BDC), which is ballistically matched to the anti-personnel round, and shall not preclude the application of come up data (recorded ballistic data) for the firing of other ammunition. The DOS shall b e compatible to use a mounting system (e.g. rings and/or base interface) compatible with the MIL-STD-1913 Rail. The DOS shall have a tube size compatible with use of 30m/m tactical rings. The DOS system shall allow for sufficient range adjustment for tar get engagement from 50 to 1000 meters. The DOS shall be compatible for use with the existing 40mm removable laser filter unit and anti-reflection device. The DOS shall have a non-light reflecting finish (i.e. Matte black) as not to expose a tactical posit ion. The DOS shall have a mil-dot reticle. The DOS shall facilitate operation by the 5th to 95th percentile target audience soldier (the average user) while dressed in environmentally protective clothing. Any potential DOS to be offered would be re quired to pass applicable Army testing. Funding does not currently exist for this testing. Any potential DOS to be offered would be expected to carry a lifetime warranty. Any offeror would be required to be maintain a Quality Assurance system considere d ISO 9001:2000 compliant. The Government would require an estimated quantity of 4,500 (Four Thousand Five Hundred) DOS to be delivered FOB Destination to Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island IL at a rate of 300 pieces per month beginning March 1, 200 8. Currently, funding does not exist for this requirement. If funding were to be established, such funding would be incremental. Interested potential offerors which can meet the functional requirements, delivery milestones and estimated quantities as described herein are encouraged to send existing commercial product literature and commercial pricelists that will provide the Government with the ability to determine the adequacy of the offered product for the meeting the stated requirement. The Gov ernment must be able to make an adequacy determination based on the literature provided and will not accept hardware samples at this time.
