Description
AMCOM issues this sources sought for information and planning purposes only. This notice is not a Request for Proposal/Quote or Bid. This sources sought is a market research tool to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources which will be used f or planning purposes and to determine potential sources prior to issuance of any Request for Proposal/Quote or Bid. This information is not to be interpreted as a commitment by the Government. Participation in this effort is strictly voluntary with no cost or obligation to be incurred by the Government. AMCOM is seeking sources with the capability to produce a Modernized Joint Attack Munition Systems (JAMS) M299 Missile Launcher. This requirement is for a light weight multi-platform missile launcher in the current and future force. The effort is to produce a light weight missile launcher that shall support multiple platforms and missiles, ensures maximum commonality across launcher configurations, and requires full airworthiness qualification. The moderni zed M299 launcher shall be required to carry and launch the JAMS Project Office (PO) family of HELLFIRE missiles and the Joint Air-to-Ground Missile (JAGM) from various Army rotary wing (RW) and un-manned aircraft system (UAS) platforms. There shall be th ree launcher variants: (1) Quad-Rail - the Quad-Rail anticipated weight savings per launcher is 45 lbs, (2) Dual-Rail  the Dual Rail anticipated weight savings per launcher is 33 lbs and (3)UAS - The UAS anticipated weight savings per launcher is 15 lbs. The anticipated period of performance will be 30 months of development, testing and qualification with two production options. Option 1 FY 11-12 with anticipated production quantities of 120-350 and Option 2 FY 12-13 with anticipated production quantities of 140-350. A single award, firm fixed price contract type is anticipated. Solicitation issuance is anticipated for 2nd quarter FY 08, with contract awarded anticipated 3rd quarter FY 08. The solicitation will be issued under full and open competition. The NAICS code is 336414. The exact closing date and time of the solicitation will be identified in the solicitation package. It is the sole responsibility of the offeror to review the webpage frequently for any updates. Information may be submitted by any non-governmental entity including commercial firms, institutions of higher education with degree-granting programs in science and/or engineering (universities), or by consortia led by such concerns. AMCOM encourages participation by small business, sma ll disadvantaged business, Hub-zone small business, woman-owned small business, veteran owned small business and historically black colleges and universities and minority institutions. This sources sought is used for information and planning purposes onl y and does not constitute a solicitation. No contract will be awarded as a result of this synopsis. All information received in response to this sources sought that is marked proprietary will be handled accordingly. Responses to the sources sought will not be returned. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 15.202(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Responders are responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this sources sought.
