- The Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, Virginia seeks sources and information for a TRICON insulated container with integrated refrigeration unit. The system shall be able to provide refrigeration, freezing, and heating. Electric power will be externally provided. The unit shall be a complete system in support of an ongoing requirement. A draft Statement of Objectives (SOO) and a draft Performance Specification (PS) is provided as attachment. Industry comments are solicited. For the Small Field Refrigeration System (SFRS) delivered item, the PS provides a list of Critical Performance Parameters that must be met; all other stated requirements are Government desired levels of performance, and will be subject to Best Value determination. Commercial firms possessing the characteristics noted for the program and hardware are encouraged and invited to submit the following: Product literature and unit prices of articles that have the potential to meet the Government? s requirement. Of particular importance is demonstrated ability to meet high ambient temperature requirement. The Government welcomes comments on the Statement of Objectives and the Performance Specification. GSA Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) may be an appropriate method for these supplies and services (Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 8.0 and 8.4. The Government has a procurement requirement for up to 500 systems. It is highly desired to be able to procure spare refrigeration units (up to 200) under a common contractual arrangement. Responses will be reviewed to identify firms potentially capable of fulfilling the Governments requirements. This sources-sought/Request For Information (RFI) is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a Request For Proposal (RFP), or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire follow-on acquisition. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of submission, of responses to this RFI and Government use of such information. The Government recognizes that proprietary data may be part of this effort. If so included, clearly mark such restricted or proprietary data and present it as an addendum to the non-restricted/ non-proprietary information. The Government intends to release a Commercial Item Procurement for the subject capability in Spring 2008. As part of the proposal, the Government may require one Production Representative Sample per proposal to be delivered to Aberdeen Test Center, Aberdeen Maryland for a one-month period to support source selection.
