- Description
- THE CURRENT RESPONSE DATE UNDER GENERAL INFORMATION ON THE ORIGINAL PRESOLICITATION NOTICE IS CORRECTED TO 12/05/2007. Provide A/E Qualifications for construction of a Cardiology Step-Down Unit at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston, SC. The required services shall include schematic design concept (15%) design development (60%), preparation of final construction documents including cost estimate for the 100% level, selected post construction period service, post construction as-builts, and other task related to these services for Project 534-08-109. The proposed construction is to renovate some respiratory and pulmonary space next to the Cardiology Department and the Cardiac Cath Labs into an appropriate Cardiology Step Down Unit for Cardiology patients. The primary intent is to have a unit that can support the utilization of the cardiology catherization room and possibly other heart procedures that would need a step down recovery area before release to the surgical/medical wards and/or to outpatient surgical areas. A nurse's station (and/or area/alcove), recovery area/rooms for the cardiology patients with medical gas, electrical power (both normal and emergency), lighting, telemetry, data lines, etc. will be part of the design and determination of the layout for the area. Secondary intents would be to be able to utilize the area as a possible swing space for either MICU or SICU during a possible renovation of the areas and also to be utilized as an Ambulatory Care Surgery Observations area if excess capacity might exist. Meetings with Nursing and medical staff for programming (exact determination of the space layout and resultant engineering needs will be required. Project will also require the coordination of relocation of some of the cardiology functions within approximately the same area as the step down units. Exit determination will be during the programming meetings, but it appears that the exact stress test area, EKG reading rooms, and holters scanning area will have to be relocated within the same general space. Approximately 4,000 SF of space will be renovated. The estimated construction cost is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00. Consideration is limited to concerns located within a 200 mile radius of VAMC, Charleston, SC. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 541310. This notice is issued subject to the availability of funds and is not a request for proposal. Interested firms who posses experience in this type of design and renovation may submit three (3) copies of an SF-330 located at the following website: http://www.gsa.gov/Portal/gsa/ep/formslibrary.do?formType=SF to Sandy Mulligan, Contracting Officer, 109 Bee Street, Charleston, SC 29401 not later than 3:00 PM eastern time, December 5, 2007. THIS REQUIREMENT IS ISSUED ON AN UNRESTRICTED BASIS. SOURCE: FedBizOpps Synopsis http://www.fbo.gov/spg/VA/ChaVAMC/VAMCCO80220/VA-247-08-RP-0066/listing.html
