- Description
- The United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) currently has a requirement to provide non-personal service to include all personnel, supervision, equipment (except for government furnished equipment), tools, materials, and other items to accomplish a comprehensive Surgical Instrument Maintenance Program (SIMP) for the 10th Medical Group located at the USAFA Hospital. We are publishing this sources sought synopsis as part of our preliminary market research seeking companies who have the capability and skills to provide a comprehensive maintenance program including but not limited to surgical instrument repair, cleaning, and sharpening in accordance with manufacturer requirements. This will include both multiple on-site visits and off-site services as required. In addition to repair, cleaning and sharpening, on-site services must include: development of customized educational modules/programs documenting trends found during on-site inspections and site-specific training to be conducted during the same week; a quality control program designed to improve risk management and infectious control in the surgical unit; reports documenting work performed. On-site visits will be scheduled to inspect, repair and sharpen up to an estimated 4000 instruments within the designated time of five business days. The contractor may be required to provide their own on-site work space if Government space is not available. The off-site services must include an extensive loaner program providing equipment equal to that found in the surgery department. This will include instruments, power cords, orthopedic power drills and saws, endoscopic and arthroscopic scopes. Equipment to be serviced will be mailed to the contractor for repair and loaner equipment must be available within 24-48 hours of customer request. For purposes of this acquisition, the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS)code is 339113 with a business size standard of 500 employees. If your company has the capabilities described please provide your capability information to include 1) a statement describing your level of interest in the acquisition; 2) your company?s specific capabilities, 3) your company?s point of contact by name including voice and fax number, and e-mail if available; and 4) size of your firm.
