Description
POINT OF CONTACT FOR THIS PROJECT IS GEORGE VERSTRAETE AT (405) 228-5136. Design-Build  Design and Construct an Armed Forces Reserve Center and Field Maintenance Shop (Motor Pool) in Norman, Oklahoma. Description: The State of Oklahoma, Department of Central Services (DCS) and the Oklahoma Military Department (OMD) are soliciting design-build entities interesting in registering to design and construct a 100% federally funded Armed Forces Reserve Center and Field Maintenance Shop in Norman, Oklahoma. This Armed Forces Reserve Center is a combined Armory for the Oklahoma Army National Guard and United States Army Reserve and includes administrative areas, training areas, a drill floor, arms vaults, classrooms, and a kitchen. The Field Maintenance Shop i ncludes; multiple maintenance bays, wash rack, overhead bridge cranes, paint shop welding shop and administrative and training areas, lockers rooms. The Request for Qualifications documents will be issued only to those design-build entities that are pre-registered with the State of Okalahoma Department of Central Services (DCS). Pre-registration is mandatory. Registered design-build entities will rec eive electronic copies of the Request for Qualifications documents after the advertisement period is complete. Registration with DCS must occur before the close of business November 21, 2007. The State of Oklahoma Department of Central Services will be issuing a two-phase design-build competition. All pre-registered design-build entities are eligible to compete in Phase I of the competition, the Request for Qualifications. Three firms will be short listed to compete in Phase II of the competition, the Request for Proposals. The Request for Proposal competition will be based upon narrative performance specifications following the Construction Specifications Institute Uniformat II Standard. Th e Department of Central Services in conjunction with the Oklahoma Military Department will hold up to two (2) Interim Interviews during the Request for Proposal. The Norman, OK Armed Forces Reserve Center is valued at approximately $40,000,000.00 and consists of one (1) 182,112 sq. ft. Armed Forces Reserve Center, one (1) 32,953 sq. ft. Field Maintenance Shop, one (1) 400 sq. ft. Flammable Materials Facility, one ( 1) 300 sq. ft. Controlled Waste Facility, one (1) 9,359 sq. ft. Unheated Metal Storage Building, rigid parking for 524 military vehicles and parking for 622 privately owned vehicles and additional required parking for handicap spaces (note: all measurement s are approximate). The place of performance is South I-35 and Tecumseh, Norman, Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Military Department is seeking Design Excellence to LEED Silver for this Armed Forces Reserve Center. The design of this facility will set the design standard for the three (3) subsequent design-build Armed Forces Reserve Centers scheduled in Oklahoma during Fiscal Years 08 and 09. The Government anticipates awarding this project awarding this project by April 15, 2008 subject to the availability of federal funds. Issuance of the RFQ Phase I is anticipated in December 2007.
