Description
This is a notice that the Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, a sole source purchase order with Intellibot Robotics LLC, 12820 W. Creek Parkway, Richmond, VA, for the purchase of an IS800 Intelligent Floor scrubber system. The North American Industry Classification System Code is 333319 and the business size standard is 500 employees. This acquisition will be processed in accordance with FAR Part 12 -Acquisition for Commercial Items and FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This procurement is being conducted under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The environmental management service at the VA San Francisco Medical Center has a requirement for an unmanned floor care system that requires minimal human intervention. The Intellibot IS800 is the only known floor scrubbing system on the market that can operate autonomously with less than 30 minutes of operator intervention per work shift, can be mapped to navigate multiple cleaning paths thus allowing the system to clean floors without the need of operator intervention, has infrared sensors and sonic warning systems to identify corridor/floor obstacles and automatically warn the interference of its approach or automatically detour around the obstacle, and is able to self diagnose mechanical breakdowns and advise of the problem and solution. This Notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability by submitting literature and documentation, detailing the equipment capabilities, to the Contracting Officer via email to jeanne.woodcock@va.gov or fax at 916-923-4554. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All responses must be received not later than 3:00PM, November 13, 2007.
