Description
DIRECT ALL TECHNICAL QUESTIONS AND QUOTES TO JOSEPH HOBSON; HIS CONTACT INFORMATION IS WITHIN THE BODY OF THE SOLICITATION. NASA/MSFC has a requirement for A TECHNOPACK X VIDEOSCOPE NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from KARL STORZ for the following reason: Research of industrial videoscope suppliers has indicated that the Karl Storz Industrial TechnoPack videoscope is unique in the industry and has the following features: A 3.8 mm videoscope probe, which is the smallest in the industry. The system includes a hard drive which can store 20 GB, Windows compatible. This allows for up to 6 1/2 hours of MPEG, also unique in the industry, and the unit can record the data on a CD to provide the customer with MPEG and JPEG data for their records. Another unique feature is the laser measurement feature, which allows the unit to take measurements without changing the videoscope camera lens. The unit can be adapted to other types of borescopes which are on hand, converting them to video data recording capability. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on November 8, 2007, to Joseph D. Hobson at joseph.d.hobson@nasa.gov or fax (256) 544-4401. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
