- Description
- The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to award a sole source contract modification to Raytheon Company, Integrated Defense Systems (IDS), 1847 West Main Road, Portsmouth, Rhode Island for the AN/AQS-20A Sonar Mine Detecting Set. The contract modification includes a FY08 option for up to nine (9) AN/AQS-20A Full Rate Production (FRP) systems, and a FY09 option for up to six (6) FRP systems. The total number of FRP systems procured will not exceed fifteen (15). This effort will consist of producing interfaces and hardware for use on various platforms. Successful completion of this effort requires intimate knowledge of the AN/AQS-20A Sonar Mine Detecting Set system. Raytheon Company is the sole designer, developer, and integrator of the AN/AQS-20A Sonar System software and hardware. Raytheon Company is the only known source that possesses the necessary knowledge of design and operational requirements and the capability and expertise required to provide these supplies and services in a sufficiently accurate and timely manner while successfully achieving a fully integrated and seamless system. The estimated period of performance is May 2008 to August 2010. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The government intends to solicit and negotiate only with the source identified herein. Companies interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact Raytheon directly. This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the Internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. See Note 22!!
