- The VISN 8 VA Sunshine Healthcare Network is seeking information from potential sources capable of providing an electronic tracking device to track deficiencies found while conducting "Environment of Care" rounds. The VISN 8 Sunshine Healthcare network encompasses Veterans Affairs Medical Centers and clinics located from Southern Georgia to the Caribbean. A Description of the Information requested follows***1. Major Scope of Work** a. Contractor shall present software and/or hardware solutions to enable documentation and tracking of deficiencies identified in Environment Of Care (EOC) rounds conducted at multiple facilities of the VISN 8 VA Sunshine Healthcare Network. All options should possess the ability to input, retrieve, manipulate, analyze data and develop multi-faceted analytical and graphic reports generated from the EOC rounds.** b. Contractor shall present the newest, most productive and appropriate technologies as a solution to the Government's needs. The solutions shall be HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and 508 compliant and adhere to VA Information Security hardware and software requirements.*** The Government is seeking information from Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses and Veteran Owned Small Businesses capable of providing these services. Executive Order 13360 requires that Department of Veterans Affairs Contracting Officers set aside requirements for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) or Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB) when there is the expectation that there will be sufficient competition. The Government is also seeking information from Small Disadvantaged (8a), Small, Hub Zone, Women Owned Businesses, and Large Businesses interested in this requirement. The purpose of this announcement is to gather information on the available sources in the commercial marketplace for this service. The information received in response to this announcement will be used in creating a detailed Statement of Work and Procurement Strategy, including set-aside decisions. Companies responding to this request should provide a brief response with information on their firm's size status, capabilities, experience, and Technical Comments regarding possible tracking device solutions to Christopher Murphy, Contracting Officer, West Palm Beach VA Medical Center, 7305 N. This Request for Information does not in anyway constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP), and as such is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this notice, nor otherwise pay for information / items solicited. Information / items solicited will not be returned. To be of maximum benefit to the Government, written responses must be received by 22 October 2007. The Government will also allow presentations from vendors. Presentations will be held in Orlando, FL on October 24, 2007, and must be scheduled in advance through the Contracting Officer identified above. Companies interested in presenting must contact the Contracting Officer by writing before 18 October in order to schedule a presentation time.
