- This is a notice that the Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate, under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1), a sole source purchase order with Datex- Ohmeda, for the purchase of Aestiva 5 equipment for the San Francisco VAMC. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is VA-261-08-RQ-0008 and is issued as an unrestricted request for quotation (RFQ). The NAICS code is 339112 and the business size standard is 500 employees. The VA VISN 21San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center has a requirement for additional anesthesia delivery and monitoring equipment for the minor procedures unit (MPU), a fast track project that will provide direct patient care to relieve other overtaxed medical units. The equipment must be compatible with Aestiva 5 equipment already in use at the SF VAMC. The Aestiva 5 is a unique system with valuable advanced monitoring and anesthesia delivery capabilities and the only known source is Datex-Ohmeda .
