Description
HQ ACC AMIC, Langley AFB VA, intends to award a non-competitve, sole source, commercial purchase order with Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC) for 2400 Deployment booklets and 2400 military parent's guide to No Child Left Behind booklets. This request for purchase is part of a command wide effort to respond to the recent 2006 HAF alignment of dependent education issues/support in the Family Matters portfolio. Change l, to AFI 36-3009, 22 Nov 06, implemented requirements for Family Support Center (now known as Airman and Family Readiness Centers) staff to advocate for the K-12 educational needs of military children. Additionally, staff will assist Airmen and families with information and referral, and will ensure school personnel are also aware of unique issues impacting military children, i.e., deployment, frequent moves, etc The content of MCEC pamphlets, targeted to military child education, Kindergarten ? Twelfth grade, includes intensive research on the mobile military child in transition from school to school. Market research does not reveal other sources who have conducted the level of research or maintained training and support to military installations in educating school leaders, and staying abreast of challenges facing military children in transition. The government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This procurement is authorized IAW 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c )(1). No solicitation document exists. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement via email to edgar.alonso-bernal@langley.af.mil before COB 24 September 2007. Telephone requests will not be honored. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
