Description

The Social Security Administration intends to issue on a sole-source basis a firm fixed priced purchase order to LexisNexis Academic for an electronic subscription entitled, LexisNexis Congressional Hearings Collection. The subscription includes electronic access to search and retrieve full-text documents from the following collections: Retrospective Collection A (1824-1979) Approximately 73,000 titles and 12.8 million pages; Retrospective Collection B (1980-2003) Approximately 44,400 titles and 11 million pages; Prospective Collection (2004-present) Approximately 1,500 titles and 300,000 pages per year. Period of Performance for a twelve month period beginning October 1, 2007 through September 30, 2008. Under FAR Part 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Sources Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. Simplified Acquisitions Procedures under FAR Part 13 will be used. LexisNexis Congressional Hearings Collection is only available from LexisNexis Academic. This subscription is unique because it provides archival Congressional hearing documents, both published and unpublished, in fully searchable digital format, thus enabling agency staff to research the early years of SSA and other related agencies. This is not a request for quotations or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation, but merely notification of the Government's intent to order this subscription from LexisNexis. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response hereto will not be honored or acknowledged. The Government does not intend to pay for information provided in response to this publication. If an acceptable response is not received within 3 business days of this announcement, an order will be issued to the BNA. Respondents should refer to 0919-07-1207LN.
