Description

This announcement will be used as a sources sought/market research tool. The government is in the position to research commercially available engineering technical services in support of the M1 Abram Tank System Embedded Diagnostic system (ED) for p ossible future acquisitions. ED provides automated on-vehicle fault detection and isolation to expedite repair and maintenance efforts for the M1 Abrams Tank System fleet. A general description of services required in support of this system is as follows: ED system software requires annual updates in coordination with M1 Abrams vehicle software updates. In addition, critical software updates are sometimes required in order to correct faults in the system, or to maintain compatibility with other subsystems within the M1 Abrams Tank s ystem. Updates to ED Hardware design may be required in order to maintain function with the M1 Abrams Tank System. Field Service Engineer support is required in support of the ED system to include inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, failure reporting, and training at all DOD installations within CONUS and OCONUS. The purpose of this notice is to identify and establish initial interest and points of contact from private industry. This information may be used to design acquisition strategy to include socioeconomic program support. It may also help to identify and e stablish commercial practices available to the Government. All responses to this notice should include the following: Company Name, Point of Contact, Address, Telephone and Fax Numbers, E-mail address, Brief Description of Company/Capabilities, Experience areas, History, DUNS Number, CAGE Code and/or Tax ID Numbe r, as well as Size Category (Large/Small Disadvantaged, etc.) Also provide any supporting information such as commercial literature, catalogues, manuals, etc. The requested date for receipt of this announcement is NLT October 01, 2007. Upon receipt and analysis of information, potential vendors may be contacted for possible appointments for further research and exploration. No solicitation will be issued at this time. Participation in this effort is strictly voluntary with no cost or obligation to be incurred by the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government will in no way be bound to this information if any solicitation is issue d.
