Description
THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) is conducting a Market Investigation (MI) to identify non-developmental, commercially available satellite communications on the move (SOTM) for use on board Naval Patrol Craft. This notice does not constitute a request for proposal (RFP), but a request for information only. A future synopsis may be published regarding Acquisition strategy. Industry comments and product information are solicited concerning the availability of maritime SOTM systems configured for use in C, X, or Ku frequency bands. Parabolic dish antennas shall not exceed one meter in diameter, although smaller profiles are preferred due to antenna location constraints. Other type antennas (phased arrays, panels, etc.) are also of interest. Antenna gain and associated up and downlink sub-systems should support transmit rates of at least 256 kbps and receive rates of at least 1.5 Mbps. Respondents are requested to describe the extent to which the system provides automatic satellite acquisition, tracking and polarization. Respondents are requested to provide transmit/receive gain, antenna noise temperature/figure, antenna beam patterns if available, and wind loading and tracking dynamics (including supported vehicle speed, roll/pitch/yaw) performance. Test results of operational tracking performance in challenging maritime environments are also desirable. Data submission: Please submit your information electronically via email to the Contract Specialist and the Technical personnel below. PDF or Microsoft Office formats are acceptable. Email not to exceed 5MB. Technical point of contact: Mr. Eric Barnes (813) 281-0560 ext 306, email Barnese@socom.mil; Alt Technical Point of Contact: Mr. Salvatore Mistretta, (813) 287-9540, email salm@mitre.org Derek Beavers, Contracting Officer, Phone 813-281-0560 X573, Fax 813-281-2658, Email derek.beavers@socom.mil; Martina DeVries, Contracts Specialist, Phone 813-281-0560 ext 533, Fax 813-262-2120, Email martina.devries.ctr@socom.mil NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (18-SEP-2007); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
