Description
The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with (OSI) Orthopedic Systems Inc. 30031 Ahern Avenue, Union City, CA 94587 for the OSI Modular Table System. This OSI Modular Table System is a table that has several interchangeable tops using only one frame. The orthopedic trauma top provides a complete, powered orthopedic table for trauma procedures. Its unique composite table top design optimizes radiographic capabilities. The old style legs have been replaced with a new Traction Arc. The Traction Arc provides constant traction on the patient's leg when adduction and abduction is required. Because of the unique Traction Arc design, there is no need for a leg spar allowing unrestricted access for the surgeon and C-Arm. The complete trauma top easily positions patients and maintains either skin or skeletal traction. The Jackson Spinal Top complete with sling provides the most advanced technology possible for spinal surgery. The Jackson Spinal Top reduces venal caval compression, minimizes epidural venus bleeding and improves visualization. The 360 degree rotational capabilities allow the surgeon to rapidly and safely rotate the patient on a horizontal axis. The Imaging Top meets all radiographic requirements. The table's rotational features provide quicker lateral views and less potential for the sterile field to be contaminated since it is not necessary to rotate the C-Arm. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Vendors who wish to identify their interest and ability to provide an alternative item that will meet the capabilities and functionality described above may notify the Contracting Officer, in writing, no later than September 21, 2007 2:00 p.m. Such notification must include a complete description of the equipment that is required including narrative and capabilities as described above. Responses may be sent to Kathleen.Policicchio@va.gov or mailed to Kathleen Policicchio, Contracting Officer, (04A1-H), VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, 7180 Highland Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15206. Upon receipt of any such notifications, the Contracting Officer will determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement or proceed with sole source negotiations.
