- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for the following: Insight 30 System: Below are the requirements. -Insight 30 Material Testing Workstation: Capacity: 30 kN (6,750 lbf); Crosshead Travel: 1100 mm (43 in); Speed Range: .001-500 mm/min (.00004-19.7 in/min); Width Between Columns: 405 mm (15.9 in); Power requirements: 120 VAC +/- 10% or 230 VAC +/- 10%, single phase, 50/60 Hz; Anti-Rotation Load Cell Mountings for Load Train Alignment; QTY: 1. -Insight Handset: Multi-functional handset for INSIGHT frames with LCD display; QTY: 1. - Insight 120 VAC +/-10%, 50/60 Hz, 1 Ph, 530 VA Transformer; QTY: 1. -30 kN (6,700 lbf) Low Profile TEDS ID Load Cell for Insight Workstations: Designed for load measurement in tension or compression. Protected to 150% of capacity. M12 X 1.25 mounting; QTY: 1. -Insight 30 Load Cell Mounting Kit for M12x1.25 Load Cells: This mounting kit includes hardware to mount a M12x1.25 thread load cell to the Insight 30 and 50 workstations; QTY: 1. -Load Cell Cable, INSIGHT frame, 12in: Load Cell Cable for Insight frame Load Cells. Hirose connector, 12 in length connects to crosshead. Suitable for twin column tabletop frames; QTY: 1. -120 VAC North American Plug for All Insight Single and Twin Column Table Top Systems; QTY: 1. -Insight Additional Strain Channel (1): Provides a conditioned strain channel for Insight series systems; QTY: 1. -Pentium IV Computer with Windows XP (for use with TestWorks 4): (Dell or HP); QTY: 1. - TestWorks 4 Advanced Product Package (EM): Advanced Mechanical Testing Software for the Windows 2000/XP Operating systems; Provides extensive capability to setup, define, modify, run, analyze and report material and mechanical testing properties; Allows access to all views within TestWorks 4 (Review, Test, and Define); General Testing Package includes Tensile, Flex, Peel/Tear, and Compression test methods; Method templates are easily modified to conform with known standards (ASTM, ISO, DIN, etc.); Software manual and comprehensive on-line Help is included; QTY: 1. - Two Day On-Site Installation and Training (w/ Cal.): Training topics cover hardware and software capabilities; Calibration is included at the time of install. -30 kN (6,700 lbf.) F; Quick Attach for rounds and flats; QTY: 1. -Extensometer Cable, (non TEDS), PT to Insight, 5 ft; 5 ft: Cable for connecting non-TEDS, resistive extensometer with PT connector to DC conditioner on INSIGHT frame controller (RJ-50); QTY: 1. -Type Df (1-1/4 Inch Diameter) Clevis Pin Anti-Rotation Grip Adapter for M12X1.25 Load Cells: Adapts grips with Type Dm (1-1/4 inch Diameter) clevis pin mounting to load cells with M12X1.25 thread; Includes anti-rotation capability to maintain grip to grip alignment and to react torque from tightening manual grips; Includes one clevis pin; QTY: 1. - Calibration & Preventive Maintenance (Years 2 through 4) 3 Years. NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from MTS Systems Corporation. The authority is FAR 13.106(b)(1) only one source reasonably available. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. DO Rating is DO-C9. This synopsis shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information solicited. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing via fax, email or mail to NASA GSFC, ATTN: Jasmine Jett, CODE 210.3, Bldg. 11/Rm.S222, 8800 Greenbelt Road, Greenbelt, MD 20771 no later than 4:30 p.m. local time on 09/24/2007. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
