- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation/synopsis reference number HQ002872298628 is being issued as a Request for Quotations (RFQ) and incorporates the following with the word ?quoter? substituted for ?offeror?. Provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-18. (1) FAR 52.212-1 (Instructions to Offerors ? (b) Note that para (k) requires quoter to be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database at time order is issued and throughout performance. (2) FAR 52.212-2 (Evaluation ? Substitutes will not be accepted based on the following justification. JUSTIFICATION FOR BRAND NAME ONLY: The Apple Xserve Intel is compatible with the ANG current Apple-based video editing network that serves as the main media server, controlling four edit clients and one graphics client. The Apple Xserve Intel will allow ANG to configure the current server as a failover metadata controller and would help prevent complete system failure, which would make all critical video data unrecoverable. The Government will issue an order to the responsible quoter, with acceptable past performance, submitting the lowest priced technically acceptable quotation.
