Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, intends to award a sole source, commercial items contract for the purchase of thirty four (34) IKE 504 geospatial assessment tools with military kitsets. In accordance with FAR 6.302-1, the Governme nt has determined that Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), 7125 Columbia Gateway Drive, Columbia, MD 21046-2552, is the only responsible source for this requirement. The Government intends to award a contract by 15 Sep 2007. This is not a request for proposals and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can furnish the required items are encouraged to identify themselves and provide written notification to the Contracting Officer within three (3) days from the date of this synopsis. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. SAIC, in conjunction with Surveylab, is developing the ike 504. The current ike 305 continues to be the only hand-held GIS related device that incorporates a Global Positioning Satellite receiver; digital camera; inclinometer; compass; and a laser designator. The ike 504 will expand upon this uniqueness by incorporating state-of-the art security architecture mandated by the D oD for all new GPS systems.
