Description

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) intends to issue a single source contract with Aware, Inc. of Bedford, Massachusetts to provide software that it has previous developed to support the Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) System. This contract is not a software design contract, Aware, Inc. has already created the necessary software for this particular use. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has been tasked with the responsibility of securing our nations transportation systems. Particularly, the Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) program is tasked with enrolling and issuing a uniform credential to the Maritime population. Due to the complexity of the TWIC System and the intense time and effort spent on the existing infrastructure, the Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) program has a requirement for computer based software that allows the user to generate, view, edit and print ANSI/NIST and FBI compliant fingerprint, mug shot and demographic data files and electronic transactions. The TSA needs this particular product immediately and Aware, Inc. is currently the only vendor available that has this type of software that is operable with the TWIC System.
