This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought Synopsis for market research. This is NOT a Request for Proposal. The following information is provided to assist the United States Marine Corps Program Manager, Advanced Amphibious Assault (PM AAA) in conducting market research of industry. The United States Marine Corps Program Manager, Advanced Amphibious Assault (PM AAA) is seeking source information from industry leaders that can provide Training Courseware, Training Simulator design, development and delivery for Engineering Development Models (EDM) and First Article Simulators (FAS), and related engineering services for the Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle (EFV). The training courseware will include level 3, 4 and 5 Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI) and includes the procurement and installation of Electronic Classrooms. The training simulators will include systems for EFV operators and maintainers. The driver, gunner and vehicle commander will be trained in t he simulators. Part Task Trainers (PTT) will be developed to provide operator and maintainer training for the communications and navigation tasks. Hardware design and development, software design and development, documentation, testing, installation and delivery for the simulators are required. Integrated teams of contractor and government personnel will be essential to the success of these efforts. PM AAA has engaged the software development expertise of the United States Air Force (USAF) 309th Software Maintenance Group (SMXG) to lead the software engineering production for the EFV training simulators. The contractor will be integrated with the 309th SMXG to produce training simulator software. This request is for information only and is intended to determine if there are sufficient small businesses with the required expertise available and interested to conduct a small business set-aside competition. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code i s 333319 with a size standard of 500 employees. Companies interested in responding to this request should provide the following: a company pamphlet, brochure, or short statement of the company's abilities/history with these types of products and services, the name and telephone number of a company representative that can be contacted, and the company's address. Contractors should submit responses electronically to Robin Kuschel at Kuschelrj@efv.usmc.mil, no later than 5:00 PM EST on September 21, 2007. Information submitted to PM AAA in response to this notice will be treated as strictly proprietary unless otherwise indicated. It is emphasized that this information is for planning and information purposes only and is NOT to be construed as a commitment by the Government to enter into a contractual agreement, nor will the Government pay for information solicited. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps and on Naval Electronic Commerce Onlin e (NECO). It is a potential offeror's responsibility to monitor these sites for the release of any solicitation or synopsis.
