- Description
- THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 3 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT FOR THE KENNEDY SPACE CENTER INTERN PROGRAM. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to answer questions and extend the receipt of offers date as follows: Question 1. Can you specify the ratio of faculty to students in a 12 month period? Answer 1 - There is no set ratio. NASA intends to select the most qualified students/faculty members for our program. Question 2. Will the stipends be non-taxable? Answer 2 - NASA does not provide a tax exemption. Suggest you consult your Human Resources or tax professional for guidance in preparing your quote. Question 3. Is the offeror responsible for applicable insurance coverage- if so, how much? Answer 3 - Quoters will not be responsible for insuring the Interns while they perform at Kennedy Space Center. Question 4. How does NASA plan to fund the stipends? Answer 4 - NASA will compute stipend amounts at the beginning of the applicable semester in accordance with Table 1 of the RFQ. That sum will be added to the contract at that time. Question 5. Under Contractor's Responsibilities- section v. says that "approx. 100 interns per year may be made by KSC. Selections will occur per semester (Fall, Spring, Summer)". The administrative cost is subject to the amount of selections made per semester- so is this an accurate figure to use as the basis? Answer 5 - This is our best estimate. Please be advised that it is just an estimate. Question 6. Does Kennedy Space Center (KSC) plan to provide an on-site coordinator to serve as the day-to-day point of contact to interface with the interns? Answer 6 - Yes. Question 7. If the contractor is expected to provide an on-site coordinator, will KSC provide office space, personal computer, phone and other related support for the position? Answer 7 - The Contractor is not required to provide an on-site coordinator. Therefore, no office space, etc will be provided. Question 8. Will KSC provide all onsite support functions for interns including orientation, safety briefings, and enrichment activities? Answer 8 - Yes Question 9. Should the contractor plan for intern travel allowances such as mileage reimbursement and air fare or will actual travel costs be provided to the contractor by KSC with the stipend payments? Answer 9 - Travel reimbursement is not provided. Question 10. Is the contractor expected to assist out-of-town interns with finding and booking travel and lodging? Answer 10 - No, but you are welcome to do so. Question 11. Should the contractor plan for intern applications to specific positions or Center branches, or plan for a general application to the internship program? Answer 11 - We are looking for a general application for the internship program as a whole The due date for receipt of offers is extended to August 29, 2007. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on August 8, 2007.
