Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. This is a Request for Quotation (RFQ); a written solicitation will not be issued. The Food and Drug intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Affymetrix, for Custom E. Coli Genechip Microarrays. Submit offers on FDA-SOL-07-00407. This acquisition will be processed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is not a Small Business Set-Aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 54170 and the small business size is 500. This procurement is a firm fixed price requirement. SCOPE OF WORK - the contractor shall design and construct custom Genechip microarrays to be utilized with an integrated Affymetrix Genechip Scanner 3000 and Fluidics 450s system. The arrays must be high-density probe arrays capable of performing quantitative and simultaneous monitoring of thousands of genes. The arrays must be able to able to accommodate at least 22,000 unique E. Coli genes and 1,000 control sequences (23,000 total probe sets). Each of the gene sequence represented on this array must have 11 perfectly matched 25-mer probes as well as 11 hybridization. This should result in an array capable of accommodating >500,000 individual features. The size of each of these features must be 11 microns. The arrays must contain the following hybridization controls: bioB, bioC, bioD and cre. The arrays must contain a normalization control set of 100 probe sets. FOB point shall be the destination, Laurel, MD. Delivery location is FDA, Muirkirk Road Complex, 8301 Muirkirk Road, Laurel, MD 20708. Interested offeror?s shall submit a descriptive literature along with their cost quotation. This is Request for Quotation (RFQ).
