- The USDA, ARS, Mid South Area, intends to procure a Microarray Scanner equal to a Telechem International, Inc., SLMS SpotLight Microarray Scanncer. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; bids are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number 2007-4431-022 is being issued as an Invitation for Bid. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-12. Offerors are to provide a bid for the following: SPECIFICATIONS: The instrument must be capable of scanning microarray slides without using laser scanners, use "cool" excitation technology to read fluorescent signal, extremely high signals and low back ground, two color Cy3 anc Cy5 dection, 10um resolution, 16-bit data output and deep-space imaging detectors, high numerical aperture lenses, and custom filters. * Microarray scanning instrument *Detection platform: "cool" excitation technology, not laser detection. *Imaging detectors: deep-space imaging detectors *Lenses: High numerical aperture lenses *Filter sets: custom *Channels: 2 color *Signal to background ratio: 3000:1 *Format: all types of slide-based microarrays *Compatiblility: all types of surface chemistries including glass, plastic, bydrogels, nitrocellulose and nylon *Sensitivity: 0.1 fluors per um2 and 1,000 fluors per spot *Resolution: 10, 20 and 50 um *Maximum scan area: 25 x 76 mm *Dynamic range:>1,000,000-fold using multiple integration times *Software requirement: Win 2000, Win XP *Computer Hardware requirement: P IV-2.0 GHz, 256 Megs RAM, 20 GB dirve *Standard detection wavelenght: Cy3 (530 nm) and Cy5 (625 nm) *Optional dection wavelengths: 455 nm, 470 nm, 505 nm, 590 nm, 617 nm, 625 nm and white light *Standard filter sets: optimized fo rCy3 and Cy5 *Optional filters sets: fluorescein and fluorescein analogs, TRITC (Rhodamine), ASPC, ethidium bromide, Alexa dyes and several GFP variants *Standard detection lable: fluorescent *Optional detection lables: chemilluinscent and colorimetric *Physical dikmensions (Wx L xH): 30 x 30 x 46 cm (12 x 12 x 18 in) *Spotlight weight: 11 kg (24 lbs) *Electrical requirements: 100 or 240 Vac and 50-60 Hz Equipment Line Items: ITEM No. 1 SUPPLIES/SERVICES: Microarray Scanner QTY: 1 each UNIT PRICE: $ ___________ TOTAL AMOUNT: $ ____________ All systems and components shall be provided with a one (1) year warranty from the time of owner?s acceptance. The warranty shall cover all parts, labor and material. Delivery of the unit by the instrument vendor must be within 30 days of award of contract. Bid prices shall include all necessary labor, parts, materials, and transportation necessary to delivered FOB Destination a Microarray Scanner to USDA, ARS, HBB, Genetics, & Phy.
