Description
The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Olympus Surgical America of Orangeburg NY for the purchase of an Olympus Urology Video System with one (1) additional year of maintenance service, for ambulatory surgery at the William S. Middleton VA Hospital, Madison, WI. This procurement is being conducted in accordance FAR 6.302, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. NAICS 339112. To the best of our knowledge, Olympus Surgical America, as the equipment manufacturer is the only vendor who can provide this equipment. System required shall include an OTV-S7V-B VISERA Digital Camera, the MAJ-1124 VISERA System Keyboard, two CYF-V2 flexible video cystoscopes and the OTV-S7H-1N VISERA angled head camera with a built-in moiré filter. The moiré filter has unique connections that are required for use with the VA's existing Olympus scopes and interface with our hospital computer system (VISTA Imaging). To the best of our knowledge, Olympus the only source that can provide the above. Equipment must be compatible with existing endoscopes and cystoscopes at the VAH, including but not limited to models CYF-3, CYF-4 and CYF-5. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Office by the response due date or within seven (7) calendar days of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to the Contracting Officer, VAMC-GLAC, Building 5, 5000 W. National Ave. Bldg. 5, Milwaukee WI 53295 or via fax to (414) 902-5440. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Olympus.
