- This modification changes the bid opening date listed in this announcement from July 10, 2007 to August 21, 2007, and corrects the NAICS code from 236290 to 238290. Contractor shall provide all tools, labor, materials, and supervision to perform all work required for Project 521-06-106 "Replace Elevators P1-P4 & S5" at the VA Medical Center, 700 South 19th Street, Birmingham, Alabama 35233 in accordance will plans and specifications. The construction work will consist of, but not limited to, rehabilitation of five (5) elevators. Four (4) of the elevators are Electric Passenger Elevators and are of a gearless traction type; and shall be provided with new cabs, silicon control rectification (SCR) microprocessor based controls and group automatic operation. One (1) is an Electric Service Elevator and is of a gearless traction type; and shall be provided with new cab, silicon control rectification (SRC) microprocessor based control, single care selective collective automatic operation. The estimated dollar value of construction is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. Estimated solicitation issue date is on or about June 7, 2007, with an estimated bid opening date of August 21, 2007. The National American Industry Classification system (NAICS) Code is 238290 for this procurement. This procurement is subject to the availability of funds, and is for full and open competition. There will be one (1) pre-bid walk through of the project, and it is highly recommended that any contractor wishing to bid on this project should attend the walk through. The pre-bid walk through time and location will be addressed in the cover page of the solicitation. All solicitation packages will be available for downloading from the website www.fedbizopps.gov/ listed in this announcement. NO HARD COPIES OF THE SOLICITATION WILL BE PROVIDED. However, hard copies of the drawings will be issued on a first come first serve basis only to prime contractors; no drawings will be issued to sub-contractors. Only twenty-five (25) sets of drawings will be issued. All requests for drawings and/or questions regarding this solicitation must be submitted in writing to Paul Weathersby (10N7/NLO), VA Medical Center, 3701 Loop Road E., Tuscaloosa, AL 35404 or by e-mail to Paul.Weathersby2@va.gov please submit your request no later than June 7, 2007.
