Description
This Amendment addresses changes to the Statement of Work and answers to questions by contractors. The following changes are made to the Statement of Work: MODIFICATIONS REQUIRED ON FOUR VEHICLES: BULLET #1 READS AS: ?The contractor shall provide and install rear troop seat assembly seats to face inboard and hold up to four personnel. Each seat shall include a safety belt, backrest and handrail and be able to fold down.? THERE IS NO LONGER A REQUIREMENT FOR A BACKREST AND HANDRAIL. BULLET #5 READS AS: ?The contractor shall provide and install Middle Gunner Seat Gun Mount assembly for crew served weapons. Mount needs to be adjustable for placement of weapons.? THIS ENTIRE ITEM IS NO LONGER REQUIRED. BULLET #8 READS AS: ?The contractor shall provide and install Rear Wheel Well Assault Step assembly. This includes the left and right tire safety shields. Needs to be removable for use at any time.? THIS ENTIRE ITEM IS NO LONGER REQUIRED. NEW PHOTOGRAPHS TO BETTER DEPICT THE MODIFICATIONS ARE NOW AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST. THE FOLLOWING ARE ANSWERS TO VENDOR QUESTIONS: QUESTION #1: What is the name of the Company that performed the original modifications to the vehicles? ANSWER #1: We are not sure who performed the modifications to that particular vehicle. QUESTION #2: Is that Company registered to bid on this solicitation? ANSWER #2: See Question 1 QUESTION #3: What was the cost of the original modification? ANSWER #3: See Question 1. We do not keep a bid list. QUESTION #4: Are there any engineering drawings for this solicitation? ANSWER #4: No. QUESTION #5: The vehicles with Turret Ring where not available to view at the site visit, would supply pictures of the front and rear of the vehicles. The current pictures do not give good detail of this bumper and rear step. ANSWER #5: Pictures are now available upon request. QUESTION #6: Would it be possible to extend the distance of the government will transport the vehicles to with in 250 miles? ANSWER #6: No, the Government will only transport the vehicles 30 miles. QUESTION #7: FAR 52.211-8 Alt II, Time of Delivery with the clauses addenda to paragraph (b), The Government requires delivery not later than 60 days following receipt of written notice of award. Can this be modified to say, 60 days from the date vehicles are received by the contractor? ANSWER #7: Yes, this is acceptable to the Government. QUESTION #8: Do we have to transport vehicles (both ladder and assault)? ANSWER #8: The Government will transport the vehicles up to 30 miles. Over 30 miles the contractor must transport the vehicles. QUESTION #9: Do you have the Mil # on the turret ring, bikini top, and gun mount with roller cage? ANSWER #9: No. QUESTION #10: Does front ramming bumper need to be like photo or will one that has been used in the field work? ANSWER #10: Pictures are now available upon request. QUESTION #11: Is the rear gun mount a stock item or custom built? If it is a stock item, what is the Mil #? If it is a custom built item what is the spec. on it? ANSWER #11: Custom built. Specifications are not known. QUESTION #12: What is the turn around time on the Assault Trucks and the Ladder Trucks? ANSWER #12: 60 Days. QUESTION #13: Does the ladder system need to be blasted and/or painted? ANSWER #13: No. QUESTION #14: Modification requirements ask for seats to be turned inward; however, examples were turned outward. ANSWER #14: Seats face inward on the rear of the vehicle. QUESTION #15: Beyond 30 miles, how are vehicles transported? If by carrier, do you have recommendations? ANSWER #15: Over 30 miles the contractor must transport the vehicles. QUESTION #16: Will an example vehicle be provided for measurement and fit up, or drawings? ANSWER #16: The Government will make every attempt possible to provide a vehicle for measurement and fit up. QUESTION #17: Are Turret Ring Bikini Top Assembly, Gun Mounts, Turret, Middle Gunner Seat Mount, Seat Belts, Front Ramming Bumper Assembly, Rear Wheel Well Assault Step Assembly, purchased items, new or surplus and if so, from who? Can you provide purchase information? ANSWER #17: All parts are purchased items. The Government does not know where or from whom the parts were purchased from since this would have been provided by the contractor who performed the original modifications. QUESTION #18: Finish: will complete vehicle need to be blasted and painted with cart paint? ANSWER #18: Only the new parts will need paint. QUESTION #19: Where rivets & bolts are removed, do holes need to be welded for filled with rivet or bolt? ANSWER #19: No, unless it is going to take away from the structural integrity of the vehicle. OFFERS MUST BE RECEIVED BY 2:00 PM EST, 28 AUG 2007. THIS IS A CHANGE FROM THE ORIGINAL DATE OF 16 AUG 2007.
