- Description
- Hardware and software techniques are sought for protection of DoD critical technologies (CT). The focus of this effort is to discover innovative anti-tamper hardware and software techniques to aid in the protection of Critical Electronics Technology and/or COTS hardware within which critical program information (CPI) or critical information (CI) software (i.e., algorithms) are executed. Volume protection concepts should address detection of tamper attempts and an appropriate penalty as the result of the tamper attempt. Thought should be given to reliability of the product as well as flexibility in assessing a significant penalty if tamper is detected. Anti-tamper techniques should be capable of lengthy unattended and unpowered environments. The anti-tamper techniques should have low probability of false alarm as well as very high probability of detection of a tamper attempt. Methods of destruction of small electronic parts techniques are desired. AT techniques are most effective if they are undetectable in the host system architecture and they protect CPI without giving any direct indication that the tamper event has occurred.
