- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUCEMENT, FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) seeks information for the purpose of identifying potential small businesses capable designing, developing, producing, and supporting the Navy Open Architecture Processing System. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code applicable to this requirement is 334111 with a size standard of 1000. The Navy Open Architecture Processing System supports the Navy?s planned implementation of Open Architecture (OA) for Navy combat systems and provides the computer processing and memory, data storage and extraction, and I/O interfaces to support hosting Navy combat system software applications. The scope of work required includes: (1) design, development, and qualification of a COTS based, Grade A shock qualified, processing system; (2) developing logistics support products including: an Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) supporting syste m operation and maintenance, Planned Maintenance System (PMS) documentation, a Computer Based Training course that supports system maintenance, and Provisioning Technical Documentation; (3) system production; (4) managing and resolving system obsolescence and Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) issues; and (5) establishing a Performance Based Logistics (PBL) supply support process to provide system repair parts in response to fleet requisitions. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS, BUT RATHER A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION from industry that will allow the Government to identify interested small business sources capable of meeting requirements. It is requested that information in response to this RFI be submitted No Later Than close of business on Tuesday, 14 August 2007 to Mr. David Nemerow by e-mail at David.Nemerow@navy.mil or by facsimile at (202) 781-4648. Interested parties may provide any information (e.g., specifications, brochures, produc t descriptions, identification of government contracts for similar pro ducts, etc.) that may or may not be used by the government to verify the respondent?s capability of meeting requirements. Responses should also include the following: (1) business name and address, (2) business size, including average annual revenue for past there years and number of employees, (3) number of years in business, and (4) point of contact, including name, title, phone, fax and e-mail address. The information sought herein is for planning purposes only and should not be construed as a request for proposal (RFP) or as any obligation or commitment on the part of the Government to acquire any product or service. There shall be no basis for claims against the Government as a result of any information submitted in response to this RFI. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis if this RFI or otherwise pay for any information submitted by respondents to this request.
