- Description
- The United States Geological Survey, Western Ecological Research Center (WERC), Las Vegas Field Station has a requirement to modify a commercial item for ten (10) RFID Transponders to track adult and juvenile desert tortoises. These systems must contain the following specifications: a) Range: range of not less than 300 meters, locate tortoises above and below ground, and track juvenile tortoises with more than an 80% success rate; b) Transceivers: preferable hand held, no size/weight limitations; c) Tags (to be affixed on the tortoises): shall be less than 10 g and not more than 1/2 of an inch square for the main body, but with an allowable antenna extension (10-15 inches). Additionally we would like to retain technical expertise from the vendor for 2 years. A request for quotation (RFQ) 07WRQQ0107 will be made available through the Government-wide Point of Entry (GPE) on or about 10 August 2007, IAW Far 5.102(a)(1). Interested parties are encouraged to contact the Contract Specialist regarding the development of these systems. This notice and any resulting solicitation or contract conforms to the requirements in place through FAC 2005-18, effective 05 July 2007.
